CAO/Principal Selected
April 16th, 2009Sue Yates, Regional Vice President for Mosaica Education, Inc., announced the appointment of Mrs. Septembra Williams as CAO/Principal of Jackson Arts & Technology Academy, effective July 1, 2008.
Mrs. Williams stated that she was looking forward to “the opportunity to provide strategies for growth, progress and improvement for children and adults.”
She comes to JATA from the AIMS-West Village Academy in Detroit where she most recently served as the Principal/Campus Director. Prior to that assignment she worked as a family services worker/counselor for Magnum Educational Management, grades K-8.
She also brings with her two years of experience as an elementary teacher for Detroit Public Schools, and work with the NITT Foundation in Tulsa, OK.
She completed her undergraduate work at Central State University in Wiberforce, OH, majoring in Communications/ Journalism. She also holds masters’ degrees from CMU in Educational Leadership, Community Counseling at Cambridge College, and Education—Integrated Studies from Central State University.
The CAO search began in January with a posting of the position nationwide. Five finalists were selected for interview after screening by Mosaica Education personnel in Atlanta, GA.
In April, the Board of Directors, parents, and staff members participated in interviews. Following prioritizing by those present, Mosaica Education President Gene Eidelman conducted final interviews and recommended Williams for appointment.
Yates stated “Mosaica Education is pleased to have Mrs. Williams in this role and feel confident that she will provide the leadership and opportunities for children to excel.”
Yates went on to extend her appreciation to Dr. Stan Bushouse for his willingness to serve the school, the staff and students in the absence of a full-time principal this past semester.
